About us

My name is Brenda Schroeder-Miller. I am 49 years old, the mom of Sarah, Carrie and Evyn and Grandma to Hannah and Eli. I am a newlywed- married to Jim Miller on April Fools day 2006. That makes me a step- mom to John and Adam and Step- grandma to Haily, Reesee and Olivia and Owen.
I have been practicing massage for over 20 years. After the first massage I had in the early 1980s, I was hooked! I got involved in alternative medicine and through close friends of mine was able to do hands on training in Reiki, Massage, readings and Crystals. I offered all of these modalities to friends, family and a few clients part time while I worked full time as the legal director of a sexual assault /domestic violence program in Wisconsin. In 1994 I moved to Minnesota from Wisconsin and continued to do alternative therapies on a part time basis.
In 1997 I was in a very serious motorcycle accident. My life as I knew it stopped. I was critically injured and in a coma for about 3 weeks. I had fractured my skull and sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury. My memory of the past was very fragmented and to say the least I had to learn to live all over again. Through years of rest and rehabilitation I was able to re-learn a lot of basic everyday chores I had lost. I was able to start driving again after about 1 year.
The reason this is so important to tell you is that I am not sure most people know this about me, its also the reason I am so passionate about massage. I know it helps and heals and if there is any thing I can do to speed that process up for my clients, well, thats what I want to do. No one should have to be miserable if I can do something to make it better. It was after this accident and rehabilitation that a friend of mine told me about the new Massage Therapy program at Ridgewater College. I was so excited to even think about working again and at something I loved.
So in 2002 I went back to school and got my certification in Clinical Massage. I have continued my education after my graduation with specialty training in deep body work including basic massage, Myofascial massage, deep tissue/ pressure and release points, ear candling, hot rock treatments, reflexology and Aromatherapy as well as body wraps.
